Chicken Eggs With Personality
There are Easter eggs and then there are Easter eggs. Take your colored eggs to the next level by adding a little character. Since this project will require cutting out little pieces of felt or foam paper and handling eggs, it is recommended for older children.
Materials
- Felt, construction paper, foam paper (a variety of colors)
- Colored eggs
- Eye stickers or googly eye stickers

Directions
- Use orange felt, foam or construction paper to make a beak.
- Cut yellow paper to create an animated chicken comb (this looks a bit like a chicken foot).
- Cut out two orange feet.
- Glue all the pieces on to a colored egg (this might have been colored with a marker or died with food coloring).
- Stick on the eye stickers.
- Use the Sharpie markers to add any other details to your egg chicks to enhance their character.
Bunny Mask
Creating a funny bunny mask for your kiddos to run around in couldn't be easier. The project is fun for toddlers to early elementary with a little help. Allow kids to get creative with it by using different colors and creating silly faces for their bunnies.

- Construction paper
- Paper plates
- String or elastic
- Hole punch
- Scissors
- Markers

Directions
- Using the construction paper, cut out two ear shapes. (You can also use construction paper to create the entire mask)
- Glue or staple the ears to the plate.
- Draw two circles toward the top of the plate.
- Use the hole punch to make a hole in the middle of each circle.
- Use the scissors to cut out the eye holes.
- Use the hole punch make two holes in either side of the plate.
- Run the string or elastic through the holes fitting it around the child's head.
- Tie the elastic or string.
- Let the kids decorate their masks.
Kid's Easter Craft Cards
A creative card is something kids can make regardless of their age. Since this can get a little messy, you might want to put down a sheet or a mat before the little creative juices start flowing. Gather your materials and get your elementary to pre-teeners ready to have some fun.

- Oval stencils or pre-cut ovals

- Fold the construction paper into fourths.

If you have a card that you need to make the envelope for, you'll first need to measure it so that you make the envelope big enough. Once you have your size ready, it's time for the fun to happen.
Materials
- Construction paper (Multiple colors)
- Glue stick
- Scissors
- Markers
Directions
- Select the color of construction paper for your Easter bunny envelope.
- Using the scissors from the outline of the rectangle for your card, you will cut a triangle on both the top and bottom of the card that will cover roughly half of envelope when folded.
- On the sides, cut rectangles that are a little over half as long as the card when folded.
- First fold the sides in. (They should touch slightly)
- Glue the area where they touch.
- Fold the bottom up and glue it to the sides.
- Fold the top down, but don't glue it.
- Cut out small ovals out of the white construction paper.
- Glue them to the top flap.
- Cut smaller black ovals out of the construction paper.
- Glue them on top of the white ovals.
- Cut out bunny ears that match the color of the envelope.
- Glue them to the top of the envelope.
- Allow kids to use the markers to add any additional decorative flourishes.
- Put your card in the envelope.
Sock-It to Easter
Sock puppets are fun for all ages and are simple and cheap to make. Sock puppets for Easter can get really simple to a bit more elaborate depending on the time you want to send on them. While small children might need a little supervision, kindergarten-age children should be able to create this with ease.
Materials
- Old socks (preferably white or pink but other colors are fun too)
- Markers
- Scissors
- Glue stick or stapler
- Additional items (stick on eyes, construction paper and felt)
Directions
- Create the ears: You might have kids color and cut ears out of felt or construction paper.
- Glue or staple the ears to the toe end of the sock about two or three inches from the seam.
- Either use the markers or stick on eyes to make eyes on the sock.
- Use the marker to add a nose, mouth and whiskers.
- Now put on an Easter puppet show.
Easter Placemats
Easter placemats are great keepsakes that double as kids' Easter crafts.

Directions
- Using 8 ½" x 14" construction paper, have children draw what Easter means to them.

Funny Bunny Cups

- White paper cups
- Construction paper (polka dot, tan and white)
- Markers or beads
- Scissors

Directions
- Using the scissors cut out two tan ovals about the size of a half dollar, a polka dot circle about the size of a quarter.
- Cut out ears using the white construction paper.
- Using the polka dot paper, cut out the inside of the ears (it should be roughly half the size of the ears).
- Glue the inside of the ears to the white outsides.
- Glue the ears to the rim of the cup.
- Glue the polka dot nose to the cup, just above center.
- Have the tan cheeks overlap slightly, both each other and the nose.
- Using the marker, have kids give the bunny teeth and eyes.
- Glue the cotton balls to the back of the cup to add a tail.
- Glue the cotton balls to the bottom of the cup to add feet and Voila!
Tin Eggs
Easter isn't all about the bunny! Let your little kids have fun creating and decorating tin eggs.

- Aluminum foil in a variety of sizes
